Water Balloon Toss

Here's a couple quick shots, showing off Scott Lane & myself, participating in the 'water balloon toss'. You'll be proud to know that we came in 2nd place in this event - to be cherished forever.

Lots more will be coming, but I need to get back to work 'just about now'! Yeah right !!

On the Road to Paducah !!!

Well, we were on our way - at last !! Really looking forward to this trip, the morning air was just fantastic - after all the high humidity we've been having. 30 miles south of Grand Rapids, something jumped up and took a bite outta my rear (tire that is!) Thought I'd drop a couple photo's here to show off our great start - oh well, stuff happens !
But what I'm really trying to do here, is put in a good plug for Shawmut Hills, our chapter's sponsor. I really didn't want to go backwards, but I needed to get the job done ASAP. After calling Shawmut to pre-warn them I'm coming, I just waited for the tow - a couple of Harley's passed by, probably smug - who knows!

From the time I actually arrived there, to re-packing my bags to leave, it was 3 hours. Seemed like forever, but really, a 3 hour job, thrown into their already full schedule, was really a superb effort on their part, plus they gave me a break on the tire. Probably pity for this ol' fool. Hats off to Shawmut Hills Sales, be sure to use those folks whenever you can, let them know that you're part of the VRCC club, and that you appreciate their efforts on our behalf.

Anyway, this whole event cost me about 5 hours, needed to fly. Did catch up with the rest of our group in Terra Houte. The rest of the week was really great, more pics and more INFO will be coming soon.

And the REALLY BIG NEWS (unfortunately I can't spill all the beans yet), is that next year is going to be even more fabulous. New location, new events, new activities - a whole fresh outlook -- and I get the priviledge to be part of making it happen - YOU need to be there. More INFO and dates will be coming !!

Just added this picture, kinda cool. And yes, we ARE associated with the VRCC, but our Chapter is truly open to ALL riders & brands. We do have Goldwing's, BMW's, Suzuki's, Yamaha's - even a Harley or 2 -- so come on along for the ride, you'll be glad that you did. Your spouse or significant other like to ride along? or they ride their own? Great !! Let us get to know you too.

Dinner & Races

Hey there, just a quick follow up on our Saturday ride, dinner and Berlin Races. Great time, very nice ride - although we did hit about 6-7 miles of new road work with the loose gravel crap. I just can't believe that Muskegon County would do that without checking in with me first. Other than that, ride was fantastic. Stopped at Shamrock Pub for dinner, supper food. We discussed many ideas RE: the trip to Paducah, KY. Sounds like we have (2) more riders heading down there with us (I must have won them over with my charm), not likely, but it makes me feel good anyway. Then onto the races, pretty much fun - but once a car goes around the track a dozen times, it's all the same.
Couple new faces were riding with us - Joe T (from Mason area) and Kevin G (from NE Grand Rapids area), welcome guys.
Next week-end is the "Wheels for Wishes" ride, for anyone who can make it. Click on the Michigan link (to the right), there is a link which talks all about this ride.
Later all --

Just a quick note here, and I know that all of you already on the email listing are aware of this. But for those who just happen onto this site, here's some quick INFO.
Meeting at Shawmut Hills Sales at 3 p.m., on Saturday, July 9th. We'll be doing about an 1 1/2 ride, then stop for dinner at a great grill/sports pub. And then for those of you who wish to, head on into Berlin for the races there Saturday night. Nice thing about this, is that we are teamed up with the 'March of Dimes' for these races. They will receive $4.00 back from each ticket purchased - great deal, hey!!
Contact me if you need more INFO, my email address located above.

Grand Rapids Road Ryders - motorcycling club - join on in !

Brand new to this - 'blogging' that is, let me know your thoughts.

Grand Rapids (Michigan) Road Ryders is a group of folks who flat out enjoy sharing some time, riding in the great outdoors - on just 2 wheels!

We get together generally once per month (April - October) for a "Dinner Ride". Usually on a Saturday about 4 p.m., we ride for maybe 1 1/2 hours, then stop for a great meal, lots of laughs, talking about upcoming rides or events, talk about family & home, sometimes we have raffles of prizes or cash - in short just a good time, creating new friends - YOU need to be there.

Poker rides can happen, charitable events can happen, scenic rides around the state can happen, 'fall' color tours can happen.

Our group always uses the "F" word - fun, friends, food, family, faith, flabby (well, just sort-of & not ALL of us).
